The Alberta Upstream Petroleum Research Fund (AUPRF), administered by PTAC, is pleased to announce the launch of its 2026 Request for Proposals (RFPs).
This year, AUPRF has adopted a targeted, committee-directed RFP approach that was developed in close collaboration with industry funders. This approach helps ensure that funded projects directly address priority policy issues and critical knowledge gaps affecting Alberta’s upstream oil and gas sector.
The program supports the development of practical technologies, data-driven insights, and best practices that strengthen environmental performance while enhancing industry competitiveness.
Rounds 1, 2, and 3 have now been released and focus on the following areas:
- Well Decommissioning Research
- Water Innovation
- Air Research
- Ecological Research
- Remediation and Reclamation Research
