Executive Summary
The project focuses on addressing the gaps on conducting a Methane Monitoring Assessment in Canada and the USA, in specific to reconciliation of estimation from top-down vs bottom-up approaches. The scope of work of this project will entail a broad review of current methane emission sources, inventories, monitoring technologies, methodologies dependent on regulatory requirements or supplemented with additional voluntary methods and alternatives. The type of monitoring technologies versus the magnitude of emissions and technoeconomic effectiveness of the methods will be assessed and relevant case-studies and best-practices with be studied. Following this study, relevant data will be consolidated for a critical analysis and assessment
