Primary Research Organization: GRF Grassland Reclamation Forum
Start Date: July 2022
Anticipated End Date: March 2024
Project Summary and Scope of Work
The ongoing cumulative effects of multiple industries and fragmentation by many linear projects are resulting in permanent losses and degrading the overall health of native grasslands and their resilience to disturbance. The recovery strategies for native grasslands manuals support the intent of current reclamation criteria and provide guidance for industry, reclamation practitioners and regulatory authorities. Strategies to reduce disturbance to native grasslands are presented. Where disturbance does occur or has occurred, tools to promote successful restoration are presented. Implementing effective restoration strategies will result in cost savings, improved environmental performance, and timely reclamation certification outcomes.
