Major Goals of this Project:
i. Design, build, test and install a 100 cfm Oxiperator on a slip stream from 300 kW lean burn engine exhaust, the “tail” position
ii. Test the Oxiperator on a slip stream of the exhaust, but upstream of the engine turbocharger, the “tweener” position
iii. Design and build a 1,000 cfm Oxiperator on the full engine exhaust iv. Move the 1,000 cfm Oxiperator to a similar 300 kW engine in the field and test it under field conditions.>> Overview: This R&D project will advance the Oxiperator, a novel high temperature heat exchanger, for the purpose of oxidizing methane emissions from oil and gas production and distribution in Alberta – specifically from reciprocating lean-burn gas engines and vapors from tanks or other gas leaks.
