The PTAC Methane Leadership Summit 2024, delivered in collaboration with CRIN, convened the oil and gas sector at the Rimrock Resort Hotel in Banff for two days of focused dialogue and collaboration. The summit brought together representatives from government and regulatory bodies, energy producers, service and supply companies, research organizations, and academic institutions to address the challenge of reducing methane emissions across Canada’s energy industry. With ambitious reduction targets driving urgency, discussions centered on the need for collective action, technology advancement, and the adoption of new operational practices. Building on the strong foundation of PTAC’s methane forums launched in 2018, the summit fostered open knowledge sharing and practical insight to support progress toward meaningful emissions reductions.
