PTAC Petroleum Technology Alliance Canada Announces New President and Chief Executive Officer

PTAC Petroleum Technology Alliance Canada’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Lauren Savoie as the organization’s new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective November 1, 2024. Ms. Savoie will succeed current President and CEO, Dr. Soheil Asgarpour, who announced his intention to retire earlier this year.

Lauren is a dynamic, business-oriented leader with over 20 years of diverse experience across the oil and gas sector, encompassing upstream, midstream, oil sands mining, in situ, renewable energy, and technologies. She excels in project management, strategy development, and budgeting.

Since 2017, Lauren has held several key roles at Suncor, including Senior Specialist Governance Advisor, where she served as the Enterprise Process Lead for Develop & Manage Projects, driving process and governance strategies that enhance corporate integration. As the Director of Strategic Development & Integration, she was instrumental in shaping and implementing Suncor’s bitumen supply strategy for the Wood Buffalo Region. Her prior roles also include Director of Technology and Development Manager.

Before her tenure at Suncor, Lauren was the Director at Petro Chad Transport, a pipeline company under Glencore E&P Inc., and Director of Asset Management at Caracal Energy Inc., managing assets in Chad, Africa.

Lauren holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Victoria and is a registered Professional Engineer in Alberta. Outside of work, she enjoys skiing with her family in Fernie, BC.
