Executive Summary
The purpose of this study was to understand challenges and opportunities of the Bakken Play in order to maximize its potential and return, particularly to local communities and to identify technology development opportunities that would maximize benefits while minimizing. Some of the benefits of undertaking this study include: understanding the opportunity presented by the Bakken formation based on its geology and the engineering technologies available to recover gas, condensate and oil from it, mapping the historical and present situation of the Saskatchewan Bakken Play and prepare a set of likely development and production scenarios, and including learning from the neighboring Bakken Play in North Dakota.
